Iyla’s Southern Kitchen

In 2009, Chef Greg embraced an incredible opportunity to move to Charlotte, NC, where he honed his craft as Sous Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte. It was there that his love for Southern cooking flourished, inspiring a deeper connection to the rich culinary traditions of the South.

In 2012, his journey led him to Washington, D.C., where he served as Garde Manger Chef at the prestigious Fairmont Hotel, Georgetown. While refining his skills in metropolitan cuisine, Chef Greg also celebrated a personal milestone, becoming engaged to his wife, Devon.

By 2015, the call of the South brought Greg and Devon to Raleigh, NC, where they planted their roots and Chef Greg pursued his dream of creating a restaurant that celebrates Southern heritage. Iyla’s Southern Kitchen, named after their daughter Vivienne Iyla, is the culmination of that dream. As Executive Chef and Owner, Chef Greg brings his passion, experience, and heart to every dish, delivering the soulful flavors of Southern cuisine to the Raleigh community.
